Equal access to public education is critical to a future where every kid can thrive. Yet today, a kid’s address often determines where their educational opportunities lie. Folks from across the ideological spectrum understand the inherent injustice of this system.
It’s time to ensure public schools are truly public, and that no family member is made a criminal for simply enrolling their child in a public school.

Several states have made significant strides over the years, and to continue to build momentum for reform in 2025, we are excited to announce the No More Lines Ambassadors — four dedicated advocates with personal ties to this issue. Kelley Williams-Bolar, Sean McCarthy, Imanee McCoy-Meadows, and Chelsea Hutchings will be amplifying our movement in statehouses and communities nationwide.
They’ll share their stories, highlight the challenges posed by outdated school boundary lines, and advocate for policies that give every family the freedom to choose the best public school for their needs. By lending their voices, they will provide direct support to the cause of empowering every family to choose the public school that best fits their needs.
This simple, yet transformative, policy is popular. National polling consistently shows that a large majority of Americans believe that every kid should be empowered to attend any public school in their state, no matter where they live.
But our mission goes beyond popularity; it’s about upholding our nation’s commitment to equality.
Far too many states let a child’s address dictate their educational opportunities. Join us in creating a future where every child can pursue their dreams, free from the constraints of geography.
