Kelley Williams-Bolar’s story is as powerful as it is inspiring. Driven by a deep passion for educational equality, she gained national attention in 2011 for the heavy personal cost she endured for enrolling her daughters in a neighboring public school that better met their needs. In her struggle—even facing incarceration —she ignited a national dialogue about the systemic obstacles that prevent many families from accessing the education their children deserve.

After spending nine days in jail, Kelley was pardoned by the governor, who recognized the injustice of her situation. Her experience is a stark reminder that no parent should ever be penalized for advocating for their children’s future. It is this personal mission, born out of hardship and resolute determination, that Kelley brings to her role as a No More Lines Ambassador.

With more than 16 years of experience as an advocate for kids and families, Kelley has consistently demonstrated her commitment to dismantling the geographical limitations that plague our public education system. Her work has not only influenced policy changes at the local and state levels but has also inspired countless others to believe in bold, systemic reform.

Kelley’s approach is rooted in the belief that every child, regardless of their zip code, should have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Her tireless efforts have made her a respected figure among advocates and policymakers alike, and she continues to use her platform to share her story and drive meaningful change.

“I believe in bold solutions that foster equity and break down systemic barriers. I’m proud to stand alongside yes. every kid. in championing a brighter future for all children. I am honored and truly dedicated to this movement.”
