CONCORD, N.H. — Government Affairs Director Andrew Yates released the following statement on behalf of yes. every kid. in response to New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu signing House Bill 367.
“Every kid deserves the educational experience that best fits their unique needs — and that’s what families want. Gov. Sununu and the New Hampshire legislature are clearly listening. HB 367 is a step in the right direction in removing barriers to learning in the Granite State. By expanding the Education Freedom Accounts program, New Hampshire empowers more families to choose the best learning environment for their child, rather than limit their options by their ZIP code.
“yes. every kid. applauds the efforts of Rep. Alicia Lekas, Sen. Keith Murphy and Sen. Tim Lang and we look forward to continuing to work to expand opportunities for every kid in New Hampshire.”
The law expands eligibility for the Education Freedom Accounts program from families making no more than 300% of the federal poverty level to families making no more than 350% of the federal poverty level. The Education Freedom Accounts program empowers families with direct resources to use for educational purposes, including tuition, special education services and textbooks, among others. Enrollment in the program nearly doubled from 2021 to 2022.
