Today, Oklahoma lawmakers passed legislation to expand the Parental Choice Tax Credit to allow more Oklahoma families to choose the school that works for them. The bill now heads to Gov. Kevin Stitt’s desk for final approval.

Why It Matters

  • More Oklahoma families are seeking educational options that fit their child’s individual needs.
  • The Oklahoma Tax Commission recently reported that due to strong parent demand, nearly all of the original $250 million allocation had been used.
  • HB 3705 expands program by adding an additional $25 million to meet growing demand.

What We’re Saying
“Families across Oklahoma have made it clear—they want more educational options for their children, and lawmakers listened. By increasing the cap on the Parental Choice Tax Credit, legislators are responding directly to that demand and opening the door for more families to benefit. This expansion means more parents can choose the learning environment that fits their child’s unique needs, putting students first and ensuring opportunity isn’t limited by circumstance.”

The Bottom Line
More Oklahoma families will now be able to benefit from the Parental Choice Tax Credit and access the education that works best for their children’s unique needs.
