In response to Gov. Spencer Cox’s State of the State address, yes. every kid. released the following statement:
“Utah is leading the nation in social mobility, and a lot of that is thanks to the leadership of Gov. Cox and his commitment to empowering families with decision-making authority over their kids’ education,” said Tiffany Barfield, government affairs director, yes. every kid. “Gov. Cox recognized that every kid, regardless of ZIP code or income, deserves access to a learning environment that meets their unique needs. States around the nation followed Utah’s lead last year in passing universal educational choice. We look forward to continuing to work with the governor to ensure Utah remains a leader in education freedom.”
Background:
- Gov. Spencer Cox signed HB 215, establishing the Utah Fits All Scholarship, a landmark universal education savings account (ESA) program that provides scholarships for 5,000 students.
- Through the Utah Fits All Scholarship, families can spend scholarship funds to support their kids’ various educational expenses, including private school tuition, homeschool curriculum, supplies, therapies, and necessary technology.
