(ATLANTA, GA.) – Today, the Georgia General Assembly passed the Georgia Promise Scholarship Act, empowering qualified families with $6,500 for their children’s educational expenses, such as tuition, tutoring, curriculum, and more.

“Passage of the Promise Scholarship Act is an important step for education in Georgia,” said Marcus D. San Marino, government affairs director, yes. every kid. “Georgia is on a path to empowering every kid with access to the educational environment best suited to them. We congratulate Gov. Kemp and legislative leaders, and we look forward to continuing working with them to empower Georgia kids.”

Recent polling showed a strong majority (66%) of Georgia voters support establishing universal education freedom. The Promise Scholarship Act is a crucial first step toward empowering every Georgia family with education freedom.

The legislation also includes improvements to Georgia’s public school open enrollment policies, making it easier for kids to access public education resources regardless of where they reside. Additionally, the Qualified Education Expense Tax Credit program will benefit from increased donor contribution limits. Together, these reforms represent meaningful progress toward helping all Georgia children succeed.
