yes. every kid. today announced the addition of Meaghan O’Brien and Alexandria Tapia to its government affairs team.
“Meaghan and Alexandria bring deep policy experience and a strong understanding of how state and federal decisions affect families,” said Craig Hulse, executive director of yes. every kid. “Their work will help us better engage policymakers who are looking for practical ways to put families first in education.”
The additions will support yes. every kid.’s government affairs work under the direction of Marcus D. San Marino, vice president of government affairs.
“Adding Meaghan and Alexandria expands our capacity to support policymakers at key moments in the legislative process,” said San Marino. “They bring the experience needed to navigate complex, fast-moving policy environments.”

Meaghan O’Brien joins yes. every kid. as director of government affairs, bringing more than a decade of experience in state and federal policy strategy. Prior to joining the organization, O’Brien served in the Office of Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, where she held senior roles including director of state-federal relations and health policy advisor. She also previously served as vice president of state issues at Stateside Associates.
“I’m excited to join yes. every kid. at a time when states are actively rethinking how education policy can better reflect the needs and values of families,” said O’Brien. “I look forward to supporting policymakers working to expand opportunity and flexibility for students.”

Alexandria Tapia also joins the organization as director of government affairs. She is a government affairs and policy professional with more than a decade of experience working across state, local, and federal policy landscapes. Before joining yes. every kid., Tapia served as senior director of government affairs at AM LLC and vice president of strategic initiatives and government affairs at Aardwolf Laboratories. A proud New Mexican, she has worked on nonprofit, campaign, and legislative efforts focused on expanding opportunity and strengthening communities.
“Education policy works best when families are at the center of the conversation,” said Tapia. “I’m excited to join yes. every kid. and help support state leaders as they advance family-driven education policies that expand access, increase flexibility, and better reflect the priorities of students, parents, and communities.”
The additions of O’Brien and Tapia reflect yes. every kid.’s continued investment in strengthening its government affairs capacity and supporting state-based education policy efforts nationwide.
