NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Today, Gov. Bill Lee announced his proposal for a universal scholarship program so every kid in Tennessee can benefit from an individualized learning experience. If adopted, Tennessee would be the 10th state in the nation to pass a universal education freedom initiative.
According to a recent poll by yes. every kid. foundation., three-quarters of Tennessee voters support school choice.
“Gov. Lee has been a champion for education freedom, and today he continued that legacy by proposing a universal scholarship program,” said Tom Newell, vice president of government affairs, yes. every kid. “This proposal empowers every family in Tennessee, regardless of income, with the freedom to customize an education that meets their kid’s unique learning needs. Gov. Lee recognizes that education has the power to change lives, and families should be the ones making decisions about how and where their child learns. We look forward to continuing to work with Gov. Lee and the Tennessee legislature to advance innovative education freedom initiatives that expand learning opportunities for every child.”
