A new poll conducted by yes. every kid. reveals strong public demand among Texas voters for more K-12 education options, flexibility, and a universal education savings account (ESA) program.

Why It Matters:

Texans are clear: improving K-12 education is a top priority. This February 2025 poll highlights the strong appetite for universal school choice, a hunger for additional educational options, and a demand for more flexibility that gives families the freedom to individualize education to their children’s needs.

Key Findings:

  • Republicans have a mandate to improve K-12 education in Texas. More than eight-in-ten (84%) Texas voters say it is extremely or very important for the state’s elected leaders to improve K-12 education, and voters trust Republicans (47%) over Democrats (36%) to handle the issue.
  • Texans back a universal ESA program. A strong majority (66%) believe an ESA program should be open to all families, not limited to low-income households. Moreover, 76% believe an ESA program should be open to all families, not capped at 50,000 students.
  • Texans strongly support school choice and flexibility. Seventy-seven percent of voters support school choice, with a majority (56%) strongly in favor. Additionally, 75% of voters believe families should have more choices in how their children receive an education.

What We’re Saying:

“The data is undeniable—Texans want real education freedom. Families are making it clear: they need more options and flexibility, and they support bold solutions like universal education savings accounts. It’s time for policymakers to listen and act.” – Tiffany Barfield, government affairs director, yes. every kid.
