Arkansas continues to deliver on its commitment to expanding educational opportunity for families.

Applications are now open for Education Freedom Accounts (EFAs) for the 2026–27 school year, marking another year of statewide implementation and continued access.

When Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed the LEARNS Act into law in 2023, she made education freedom a central priority of her administration—empowering parents and expanding options across the state. In the years since, thousands of families have utilized Education Freedom Accounts to customize their child’s education.

Education Freedom Accounts empower families to direct funding toward approved expenses, including:

  • Private school tuition
  • Tutoring and academic support
  • Curriculum and instructional materials
  • Specialized services and therapies

Under Governor Sanders’ leadership, Arkansas moved from legislation to sustained statewide implementation, ensuring all families not only had new options on paper, but real access year after year.

With applications now open for 2026–27, families can once again review their options and apply for the learning environment that best fits their child’s needs.
