Arlington, VA – yes. every kid., a national organization dedicated to creating an environment where every student receives an individualized education, today applauds the passage of a law to modernize education funding in West Virginia that will allow for every West Virginia student to have a personalized education.
“Today, the country looks to West Virginia to see the future of education – where every student’s education is funded, and every student can use their state education funds to pay for any education expense that works best for that individual student, including public school, private school, charter school, online classes, tutors, books, technology, and many other options,” said Andrew Clark, executive director of yes. every kid. “The Hope Scholarship Program modernizes how the state funds K-12 education and this law is a positive step forward for all students, families and educators. We applaud Gov. Jim Justice for signing the bill into law, and thank all the leaders across West Virginia who worked to worked hard on behalf of all West Virginia students.”
The Hope Scholarship Program provides West Virginia students the opportunity to use up to $4,600, equivalent to the average education state aid per pupil, to individualize their learning experience, including paying for public, charter or private school, tutors, or even a hybrid model of public-private learning experience.
